Davingy’s “Argonaut” Psychopop Selected for Union Hall Gallery’s “The Art of Now: Pushing Boundaries” Exhibition in San Diego

San Francisco, CA — Davingy Arts is proud to announce that Argonaut, a mixed-media sculpture by the artist David I. McGraw, aka Davingy, has been selected to exhibit in The Art of Now: Pushing Boundaries, a juried exhibition hosted by Union Hall Gallery at the San Diego Museum.

The exhibition will launch online at OnlineGalleryShows.com on June 5 and run through August 5, 2026, with an in-person presentation at Union Hall Gallery in San Diego, California, from June 5 through June 28, 2026.

The Art of Now: Pushing Boundaries brings together artists working across a range of media to explore the leading edge of contemporary visual practice. As both an online and in-person exhibition, the show extends its reach beyond the physical gallery walls, making the work accessible to collectors and audiences nationwide. The juried format reflects a commitment to presenting work that challenges convention, invites dialogue, and reflects the diversity of artistic voices shaping the current moment.

Argonaut is part of Davingy’s Psychopops series, abstract mixed-media constructions that often incorporate figurative elements. The work invites a reciprocal encounter, appearing to return the viewer’s gaze with an uncanny presence that is at once playful and insistent. The visible mechanics of its fabrication, exposed joins, fractured surfaces, and flashes of color, form a visual language that references the tools and processes of its own making. Approachable and freestanding, Argonaut carries the avant-garde insistence that defines the Psychopops series: demanding close attention even as it resists easy explanation.

Argonaut will be available to view via OnlineGalleryShows.com beginning June 5, 2026, through August 5, 2026. The work will also be on view in person at Union Hall Gallery at the San Diego Museum from June 5 through June 28, 2026.

“What excites me about this show is that it meets people wherever they are: in the gallery in San Diego or on their phone at home,” Davingy said. “Argonaut was built to hold its own in any setting, and I can’t wait to see where it ends up.”

The selection of Argonaut continues an exceptionally strong year for Davingy Arts. This marks Davingy’s fifth gallery-accepted work of 2026. Earlier this year, a sculpture from the Psychopops series was accepted at the Center for the Arts in Healdsburg, Cool Jazz was displayed at ACCI Gallery in Berkeley, Lone Bison was selected for the Bothwell Arts Center’s America in Art exhibition at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore, and Fains Frazzled was accepted into the Coastal Arts League 2026 All Media Show in Half Moon Bay.

Known for transforming industrial materials and mechanical forms into emotionally resonant contemporary sculpture, Davingy’s work combines bold structural compositions with vibrant finishes and reclaimed elements.
