San Francisco, CA – Davingy Arts is proud to announce that ACCI Gallery in Berkeley, CA will include artist David McGraw’s “Cool Jazz” sculpture in its “Sound in Visions: Music is the Muse” exhibit this month.
Per Arts & Crafts Cooperative, Inc., who is hosting the show from Saturday, May 2 through Sunday, May 31, 2026:
Auditory and visual art have often had a symbiotic, intertwining relationship. Both use composition, rhythm, harmony, texture, and movement to communicate. Each distinct expression sparks creativity within the other—highlighting, contrasting, even blending into one another. We think of works by Matisse, Kandinsky and Stuart Davis transforming sound and rhythm into color and brushstroke; the breathtaking use of deconstructed instruments in sculptures by Armand. Artists have long captured musicians in portraiture, or become musicians themselves by creating their own instruments. As commentary or collaboration, music and visual art make a compelling pair. Let the music be your muse!
The opening reception will be held at the gallery, located at 1652 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94709, on May 2 from 4-6 pm.
“Music has always been artistically inspirational for me so I was especially intrigued by this exhibit concept,” McGraw aka Davingy said. “I’m honored that the fine people at ACCI enjoyed ‘Cool Jazz’ as much as I enjoyed creating it and I hope someone falls in love with it and gives it a new home in their space.”
‘Cool Jazz’ will be featured alongside other works from the following participating artists: Rocky Angel, Altar De Fey, Denise Barnhart, Bat Noise, Suzane Beaubrun, Ness Benateg, Charles Curtis Blackwell, Christiane Cegavske, Vineeta Chand, Robert Collison, Barry Cowan, Theresa Currie, DAHLO, Gadget, Joan Gallagher, Alisa Golden, Linda Goldie Hagood, Kristen Katchadourian, Goran Konjevod, Rachel Leibman, Nelson Loskamp, Karen Mason, Colin McAllister, Natalie McKean, Eva Pearlingi, Susan Press, Russell Ryan, Durba Sen, Joan Sharma, Kathy Canfield Shepard, Christine Shields, Riquelle Small, Laura Spautz, Harvey Stafford, Mats Stromberg, Agness Twin, Sam Vaughan, Eko Wright, Melike Yersiz
