Davingy’s “Blue Jig & Jag” installed in Florence, Oregon as part of Art Exposed project

Florence, OR – Davingy Arts is proud to announce that Blue Jig & Jag, a large-scale sculpture by David I. McGraw aka Davingy, has been selected for installation as part of Art Exposed ReVision Florence 2026–2028 in Florence, Oregon. The work will be installed along the .7-mile stretch of Highway 101 that runs through the Florence Urban Renewal District and will be on public view through 2028.

Art Exposed ReVision Florence is a program of the City of Florence Public Arts Committee that places vibrant, large-scale sculptures along the Oregon Coast Highway as part of the ReVision Streetscaping Project, a corridor completed in 2019. The 2026–2028 edition installs six sculptures at designated plinth locations between the Siuslaw River Bridge and the intersection with Highway 126, where they are visible to both residents and the thousands of travelers who pass through Florence along the coast. Works selected for the program are available for purchase; the City of Florence retains a portion of proceeds to reinvest in its public arts initiatives.

Blue Jig & Jag reflects Davingy’s signature approach to large-scale sculptural work: bold, kinetic forms that carry both visual energy and emotional weight. The title suggests movement, rhythm, and the kind of improvised vitality that defines both jazz composition and the natural coastal landscape. The sculpture’s dynamic lines and expressive structure are designed to animate the open-air environment of Highway 101, offering passing viewers a moment of surprise and stillness in equal measure.

“Florence is exactly the kind of community where I want my work to live,” McGraw, an Oregon native, said. “There’s something about placing a large sculpture along the coast, where the landscape is already doing so much, that demands the work earn its place. I want Blue Jig & Jag to feel like it belongs there, like it grew out of the ground and has always been part of that view.”

The selection of Blue Jig & Jag continues a strong period for Davingy. Earlier in 2026, McGraw’s work appeared in the Bothwell Arts Center’s America in Art: 250 Years of Shared Creativity exhibition in Livermore, California, and a sculpture from his Psychopop series was selected for display at the Center for the Arts in Healdsburg. The Florence installation marks Davingy’s first permanent-term outdoor public placement on the Oregon Coast.

Known for transforming industrial materials and mechanical forms into emotionally resonant contemporary sculpture, McGraw’s work explores the intersection of technology, memory, movement, and human identity. His sculptures combine bold structural compositions with vibrant surface treatments and reclaimed elements, creating works that feel simultaneously monumental and deeply personal.
