Davingy's Wedge Installed at City of Sebastopol's Community Sculpture Garden

Sebastopol, CA – Artist David McGraw, also known as Davingy, has installed a monumental new sculpture titled Wedge at the City of Sebastopol Community Sculpture Garden, adding a bold contemporary work to the city’s growing collection of public art.
Standing as a brilliant magenta monolith, Wedge is both commanding and restrained. Its minimalist form creates an unmistakable presence within the landscape, using vivid color and clean geometry to transform the surrounding environment. Rather than relying on ornamentation, the sculpture invites viewers to experience how a single, powerful form can reshape space through proportion, light, and perspective.
Although Wedge presents itself with striking simplicity, the work reveals new relationships from every viewpoint. As visitors move through the sculpture garden, its changing silhouette continually reframes the landscape behind it, making the artwork an active participant in its setting. The sculpture rewards repeat viewing, offering an experience that shifts with movement, time of day, and seasonal light.
“The City of Sebastopol has long embraced public art as part of its civic identity,” Davingy said. “I’m honored to contribute Wedge to a sculpture garden that encourages people to encounter art as part of everyday life. My hope is that the piece creates moments of curiosity and discovery for everyone who visits.”
The installation continues Davingy’s mission of bringing large-scale sculpture into public spaces where art can be experienced freely by the community. Through bold color, industrial materials, and sculptural forms that encourage exploration, Davingy’s work transforms familiar environments into places of reflection, conversation, and connection.
Visitors can view Wedge at the City of Sebastopol Community Sculpture Garden, where it is now on public display.
