Forestville, CA – Davingy’s Orchard of Art will be part of Sonoma County Art Trails 2026, the 42nd Annual Juried Art Trails Open Studios Tour, taking place October 10-11 and 17-18, 2026 throughout Sonoma County. During the two-weekend event, visitors are invited to experience the work of more than 160 local artists, meet artists in their studios, and explore the creative process behind the work.
A free, self-guided countywide celebration of art, Sonoma County Art Trails offers an unusual opportunity to move beyond galleries and museums and encounter artists where their work is actually made. Davingy will welcome visitors to the Orchard of Art and Studio #19 in the Art Trails catalog, at 11390 River Road, where guests can experience his large-scale sculptures and learn more about his distinctive approach to transforming reclaimed materials from that farm into unexpected works of art.
Among the works drawing attention this year is Wedge, a glowing, brilliant magenta triangular prism that announces itself against the landscape with unapologetic clarity. Larger than life while maintaining a minimalist presence, the sculpture changes as viewers move around it, revealing new relationships between its geometric form, saturated color, and surrounding environment. Wedge is one of over 50 sculptures Davingy has installed across his sprawling Orchard of Art. Visitors can also enjoy large-scale works like Taking Out the Trash, Birds of Paradise, Red Guardian, and Golden Suspension. For Davingy, sculpture is an opportunity to turn familiar materials into something surprising. His practice centers on reclaimed and found materials, which he transforms through bold color, strong geometric forms, and a sense of play. The resulting works are simultaneously monumental and approachable, inviting viewers to slow down, look from different perspectives, and reconsider the relationship between art and its surroundings.
“Art Trails is a wonderful opportunity to bring people directly into the places where artists work,” Davingy said. “For me, the studio is where ideas become physical objects and where my materials palette meets my color palette and experimentation abounds. I love the idea of visitors seeing the work in that context and experiencing my sculptures in person. I don’t make art for myself; I make it in the hopes that it will bring joy to others.”
Sonoma County Art Trails runs October 10-11 and October 17-18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour is free and self-guided, with participating artists located throughout Sonoma County.
