X Marks The Spot

Davingy took two old sculptures with two old garbage cans to create a friendly passerby that shines in the twilight.

In patented Davingy fashion, X Marks the Spot is old upcycled into new. Two stoic poles hoist orange cage-like forms (previously used as trash receptacles) above the viewer, each capped with bright purple sculptural elements the artist created earlier in his career. The intersection of these poles, paired with their contrasting colors, creates an interconnected duality, which the artist has compared to the “yin and yang” concept.
