San Francisco, CA – Sculptor Davingy will welcome the public into his working studio at 550 10th Street on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as part of ArtSpan’s 52nd annual SF Open Studios, the oldest and largest open studios event in the United States.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to walk through Davingy’s working studio, see large-scale sculptural work up close, and speak directly with the artist and/or his support staff about process, materials, and inspiration. Known for transforming found objects into bold, colorful, luminous sculptural forms, Davingy draws on themes of material history and reinvention, creating pieces that range from gallery-scale works to monumental public installations.

“Opening the studio is central to how I think about being an artist,” Davingy said. “I want people to see exactly how the work gets made: the materials before they’re transformed, the tools, the process, all of it. Art shouldn’t feel locked away or reserved for a select few. When you can walk in and see how a piece comes together, it becomes something you can connect with, not just something you look at from a distance.”

That same weekend, Davingy is also participating in Sonoma County Art Trails 2026, the 42nd Annual Juried Art Trails Open Studios Tour, welcoming visitors to the Orchard of Art at 11390 River Road in Forestville. This sprawling orchard adorning the Russian River is home to more than 50 of Davingy’s large-scale sculptures, including Monster, Red Hot Rod, Rosie and X Marks the Spot. The dual participation reflects Davingy’s broader commitment to keeping art accessible. Both events are free, self-guided, and built around direct encounters between artists and the public in the spaces where the work is actually made.

Davingy’s public art can also be found throughout the West Coast, including Blue Jig & Jag, currently on view as part of Art Exposed ReVision in Florence, Oregon and his signature Wedge sculpture, recently installed at the City of Sebastopol’s Community Sculpture Garden.

SF Open Studios runs September 18 through October 25, 2026, with studios opening to the public by neighborhood across consecutive weekends. Admission is free.
